Terms of Service for Commit

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Commit mobile application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Ruben Assink ("we," "us," "our").

2. Description of Service

Commit is a habit tracking application that helps users:

• Create and track daily habits (called "commits")
• Monitor streaks and completion rates
• Unlock achievements based on progress
• Optionally integrate with Apple HealthKit for automatic tracking
• Receive reminder notifications
• Export personal data

3. License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

You May:

• Use the App on devices you own or control
• Create and track unlimited habits (with premium subscription)
• Export your personal data

You May Not:

• Modify, reverse engineer, or decompile the App
• Use the App for commercial purposes
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
• Attempt to access restricted features without authorization
• Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws

4. User Accounts and Data

Your Responsibility

• You are responsible for all data you create and store in the App
• You should maintain regular backups of important data
• You acknowledge that uninstalling the App will delete all local data

Data Accuracy

• You are responsible for the accuracy of data you input
• We do not verify or validate user-entered information
• Health-related features are for informational purposes only

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Free Version

• Limited to 1 active habit
• Access to core tracking features

Premium Subscription ("Commit Premium")

• Unlimited habits
• Access to all theme colors
• Premium features and future updates
• Pricing displayed in the App Store

Billing

• Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before renewal
• No refunds for partial subscription periods

Cancellation

• Cancel anytime through App Store subscriptions
• Access continues until end of current billing period
• No pro-rated refunds

Changes to Pricing

• We may change subscription prices with 30 days notice
• Existing subscribers maintain their pricing until renewal
• Continued use after price change constitutes acceptance

6. HealthKit Integration

If you enable HealthKit integration:

• You grant the App permission to read specified health data
• You can revoke this permission anytime in iOS Settings
• We are not responsible for HealthKit data accuracy
• HealthKit features require compatible Apple devices

7. Notifications

• Reminder notifications are optional and user-configurable
• We send local notifications only (not push notifications from servers)
• You can disable notifications in iOS Settings
• Notification timing may vary based on device settings

8. Intellectual Property

Our Rights

All App content, features, and functionality are owned by Ruben Assink and protected by:

• Copyright laws
• Trademark laws
• International intellectual property laws

Your Content

• You retain ownership of data you create (habit names, notes, etc.)
• You grant us a license to store and display your content within the App
• You represent that you have rights to any content you input

9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

As-Is Basis

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including:

• Merchantability
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement
• Accuracy or reliability

No Guarantee

We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• Data accuracy or completeness
• Achievement of specific results or goals
• Compatibility with all devices or iOS versions

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for subscriptions in the 12 months before the claim
• We are not liable for data loss (maintain your own backups)
• We are not liable for device damage or performance issues

10. Health and Medical Disclaimers

• Not Medical Advice: This App is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment
• Consult Healthcare Providers: Always seek advice from qualified healthcare providers regarding health conditions
• No Warranty: We make no warranties regarding health outcomes or results
• Personal Use Only: Health tracking features are for personal informational purposes
• Emergency: If experiencing a medical emergency, call emergency services immediately

11. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue features at any time
• Update the App with bug fixes and improvements
• Change these Terms with notice
• Suspend or terminate service for maintenance

We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes.

12. Termination

By You

• Delete the App from your device at any time
• Cancel subscriptions through the App Store

By Us

We may terminate or suspend your access if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Use the App fraudulently or unlawfully
• Attempt to abuse or exploit the App

Upon termination:

• Your license to use the App ends immediately
• You must delete the App from your devices
• Subscription fees are non-refundable

13. Export Control

You agree to comply with all applicable export and import laws. You represent that you are not:

• Located in a country subject to U.S. embargo
• Listed on any U.S. government prohibited or restricted parties list

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your Country/State], without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution
